Hugh "H.D." Hunter is an author and activist. Born and raised in Atlanta, he completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University, where he majored in English Language and Literature, with a concentration in African Diaspora literature. He received his master's degree in Business Management from Wake Forest University School of Business. Hunter enjoys food tours, cinema, live concerts, and sports. He's a Braves fan, a music lover, an avid reader, and a vegetarian. His favorite book is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. The first album he ever owned was Stankonia by Outkast. He's a little different, and a lotta proud of it.

A Magic Door and A Lost Kingdom of Peace is his first book. Since it's publication in March 2016, it has been named a finalist in the 10th annual National Indie Excellence Award contest for Short Stories, and the winner of the 5th Annual Beverly Hills Book Award for Short Stories.Additionally, The Book Reviewers and Reader's Favorite had wonderful things to say about the collection.
